Subject: Unsaved Sister Dear Righteous Rapper: I am a Christian and I have been praying for my sister for about 2 or 3 years now. She is not a Christian and she is living with her boyfriend. She is now 21 and there is not much I, being her little sister, can say to her, and to tell the truth I sometimes well most of the time get mad at God be- cause he does not answer my prayers. I know that I really shouldn't get mad at God but what else can I do? . . . . . ~Worried~ Dear Confused: It's hard not to get mad at God when your prayer seems unheard. Did you know that things are in motion right at this moment on your request for your sister. Remember, God doesn't need to resort to magic tricks to impress, but you can be assured that he does hear your prayer and cherishes your intercession for your sister. God tells us "For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways," says the LORD. "For as the heavens are higher than the earth So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts." --Isaiah 55: 89. This means that we can't even come close to figuring out what's going on behind the scenes as God prepares the circumstances and events for your sister to receive Him. Would you rather her ask Jesus in her life to make you happy, yet not really mean it just to make you happy? Of course not! God's in control and your prayer will be answered. My mother prayed for her sister to receive Christ, and she refused--outright! She kept praying for her for many years. After time, her sister was stricken with MS (Multiple Sclerosis) a crippling disease. It wasn't until she was on her deathbed, that my mother was holding her hand. The unsaved sister desparately wanted Christ in her life. She asked Christ to forgive her and opened up her heart to Him. She received--and her countenance changed at once. Tears flowed from both sisters as they were finally able to rejoice in the love of Christ. For more information on praying for unsaved family members, go here --Righteous Rapper Got A Question?
